Do I have enough experience to be a good babysitter?
I am 14 years old and I am an outgoing, enthusiastic, responsible and trust-worthy babysitter with tons of wonderful experience with kids and a genuine love of children! I took the Red Cross Babysitting Training which gives me a solid background in First Aid/CPR. I volunteered as a leader in a Day Camp for a portion of my summer which was very helpful because I got the chance to watch how child care providers deal with kids. I also babysat a preschooler part time in August. I've been babysitting my little sister for a few years and I was also a tutor for kids of all ages year-round. I currently finished a 10 week program at the library, helping kids read. I recently started a play group for toddlers, so I have lots of experience with kids ages 1-3. I've been a mother's helper for an 11 month old and I know Child and Infant CPR. I know things about child care such as entertaining a child, preparing a meal and getting a child to bed. When it comes to First Aid and CPR, I know all the basics and I am confident about applying the Heimlich Maneuever for children and back blows and chest thrusts for babies. I also know about rescue breathing and treating cuts, wounds, burns, poisoning, allergies and other injuries.
