Is it normal for a four and half month old to thrust their face right up to objects to see them?

My daughter is four and a half months old. She is very observant and strong, but when I show her something she pushes herself right up to it, like nose to nose with an item (like a book or toy). If it is something she is holding she puts it right up to her eye literally. Her eyes don't cross and she tracks objects okay and reaches for objects and holds them. But I am wondering if she is having more trouble then is normal for a baby to being seeing an object, or do they always put themselves nose to nose with something of interest?
