Is college the only way to get what you want out of life?

I don't want to be stuck in a job with tasks that become monotonous day in and day out and I dread having to work for a boss who micromanages or treats people like ****. It seems to me that the only real way to become sucessful and do what you want is to go to college and I right or wrong?
